The foster care program is designed to provide a temporary substitute family experience for a child who has been removed from their biological home for a variety of reasons. Services performed by a caseworker are designed to culminate in licensing of a family to act as a placement resource for children in need of out-of-home placement; including foster care recruitment, completion of a home study of foster care applicants, training and orientation of foster care applicants, monitoring of foster homes, annual re-licensing services, locating and assisting workers in foster care placements, completion of emergency caregiver home checks, and completion of Interstate home study requests from other States and monitoring of the placement if applicable and requests to other States for home studies for children in our custody who may move to another State.
